I'm not in high school, and I have a license, but I don't drive much (as in like.. once per three months or so?).
My apartment's just 10-15 min walk from my classes, and there's not really many places to go here, at least on my own, where I need a car to get there. >^>;

Wooo, just got five teeth pulled yesterday (friday, march 19th for those of you reading later in the week/this weekend)

Needless to say, I'm recovering decently and and happily doped up on vicodin for the time being. And I'm thanking the hell out of the white castle god/goddesses for having burgers squishy enough for me to nom on while recovering, just gotta brush a lot of those onions off so they don't get stuck in my wounds.

It's not too horrendous, and they give you spiffy painkillers for afterward when things start hurting again (only really lasts a day or two until things start healing up). Only thing I hated was not being able to eat solid foods for a couple days. I felt like ass because I wasn't getting the normal sustinence that I usually get. On the other hand, I was so high on vicodin that I slept through a lot of it and the rest I spent sitting at the computer surfing the internet and laughing at everything.

It was nice though, I needed a quiet weekend after all the drama that went down last week. Needless to say, me and my wife have dropped out of the renaissance faire this year along with like, a good portion of the main cast. Stupid board of directors trying to say that the volunteers and cast weren't what people came to faire for. Shame on them! -shakes finger-

Those of us in the fae guild who are leaving are planning on traveling around to other faires in the midwest this year and having fun in more welcoming places though! Yay!

Without volunteers, most public events wouldn't be able to function. This goes not only for ren faires, but school dances/carnivals, comic book/anime conventions, charity projects, etc. Come to think of it...I've still never been to a ren faire. I keep wanting to go, and never actually make it. Something always comes up, or my mom forgets about it.

I'm having problems with my teeth, too...my Wisdom Teeth are coming in very slowly, and I wish they'd just crown already. I think I may have to have one of my old cavities redone, too. Both of you + me + three or so of my friends are all having tooth problems atm. ><;

Yeah, our faire is kept up and run solely on volunteer work. If it weren't for the cast, then the buildings and stuff on site would be in total disrepair. They also chose to fire our executive director, whom pulled the faire out of the last slump we were in (and was always on site helping with repairs and such), for very vague reasons.

I'll probably consider cast again in a later year, once things have been cleaned up as far as running the thing goes. It's my home faire and I want to be cast there -some- day.
