Fabric for the LOSE

I have NEVER been good at drawing folds in fabric... Ever.
I have also never really tried.
For a class assignment I am forced to...
You know, it didn't turn out half bad.

It is pretty rough, but way better than I used to be.
Perhaps because I tried.

And I guess that is what a good teacher makes you do..

Were you looking at a model/reference pictures or drawn from your head? 8O

I was looking at an ancient painting with cracks so it was real hard to tell where the folds were supposed to go.
So it was half reference and half my head, I suppose. The reference was an old saint.
I am just... horribly... horrible... blasphemous. O.o

I can never get over how detailed the paintings look when they render lace, especially in portraits~ @O@

Yeah, that just infuriates me.
I can't remember what picture it was exactly but we had to try to replicate one in my art class many years ago that had a lot of lace and I flipped out and tore it to pieces. >.<

I just don't have that attention span and I was trying so hard to get away from my normal style and i combined like... 15 artists... O.o

Except that it looks like the back of her cape/cloak is missing, if it is indeed a cape/cloak. XD

Oh my, the fabric looks rather lovely. I can draw them, but shading is another story... *sighs*
